Daintree Rainforest

The Daintree Rainforest is found in North Queensland on the North East Coast of Australia.

                                                                                     

The Daintree Rainforest has many animals; it contains 30% of Australia’s frog, reptiles and marsupial species, 65% of Australia’s bats and butterflies species and 18% of the bird species. Also it has 12,000 different types of insects. The rainforest takes up 0.2% of the landmass of Australia. It can survive because of the community of the animals, plants and air. The rainforest is not just a rainforest, it’s a tropical rainforest.

It is environmentally significant, because people didn’t design or make it, it developed naturally. The animals and plants in the rainforest are environmentally significant. It also has historical significant, because it’s very old- around 13million years old.
